API
One request, three ways to show it
POST /v1/charts returns the card with an embed URL, a PNG and the SVG. Switching the type or the theme is a free PATCH, and your agent can do the same with create_chart on the MCP server.

Prices, rates and polls are taken verbatim from headlines and excerpts. We only confirm which one is the one you asked for.

Coverage usually needs ultra, figures need fast. With mode set to auto, we pick the cheapest mode that gets the data.
Charts questions
What can I chart?
Coverage of a topic over time, share of voice between names, the tone of the coverage, the outlets that publish the most, the timeline of a story, and the figures articles publish, like a price, a rate or a poll. From a custom index: prices, price against rating, availability and brands. Or send your own data.
Where do the numbers come from?
Counts come from our news index, and each card says what it counted. Figures are found verbatim in headlines, standfirsts and excerpts, and we only confirm which one is the one you asked about: nothing is generated. Every figure lists the articles that published it in sources.
Can I choose the chart type?
Yes. Send type, or leave it on auto and we pick. If the data doesn’t fit the type you asked for, we draw the closest one that does and explain why in warnings. compatible_types lists what else fits, and switching is a free PATCH.
How much does it cost?
From a query, the search it needs (its mode, per query) plus $0.50 per 1,000 charts: $1.50 per 1,000 in ultra, $1.90 in fast. From your own data, $0.30. Embeds, images, PATCH and repeats within 10 minutes are free, and so is a chart that fails.
How do I embed it?
Paste the iframe from embed_url. It adapts to its width, switches to a compact layout under 480 px and tells your page its height, so it never scrolls inside. For chat, email or slides, use image_url: a PNG at twice the resolution.
Will it slow down my page?
No. A card renders in under a millisecond on our side, the embed page weighs a few KB, and it loads our own fonts and nothing from third parties. Embeds and images are cached.
How long do charts last?
90 days on pay as you go, and for as long as you keep them on the monthly credit plan. Delete one any time and its embed stops working. With store set to false, nothing is kept and the SVG comes in the response.
Can my agent make charts?
Yes. The MCP server’s create_chart takes a question and returns the image to show, the embed and the sources, at the same prices as the API.
