Legal

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us for using typesearch: the website, the dashboard and the API.

Last updated September 23, 2026Draft

This page is a draft until we complete the seller’s legal details: legal name, tax ID and address.

In short

  • typesearch is sold by [legal name], in Argentina. Payments go through Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record.
  • You buy credit in advance, and each request spends it at the price on our pricing page. Purchased credit lasts 12 months.
  • Keep your API keys secret: you are responsible for what is done with them.
  • We return links, metadata and short excerpts, never full articles. The articles belong to their publishers.
  • Argentine law applies. Questions: legal@typesearch.ai.

Who we are

typesearch is a service of [legal name], a sole proprietorship registered in Argentina with tax ID (CUIT) [tax ID] and its address at [address], Argentina. In these terms, “typesearch”, “we” and “us” mean [legal name].

These terms cover the website at typesearch.ai, the dashboard at app.typesearch.ai and the API at api.typesearch.ai (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using an API key, you accept them, along with our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you accept them for a company or another organization, you confirm that you can bind it, and “you” means that organization.

If you have signed a separate agreement with us, such as an Enterprise agreement, it prevails over these terms where the two differ.

Payments through Paddle

Orders are processed by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle sells you the credit, charges your payment method, issues your invoice or receipt, collects any sales tax or VAT, and handles customer service inquiries about payments and returns.

Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms. For anything about the Service itself — your account, your keys, your usage or your balance — write to us at support@typesearch.ai.

Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account.
  • Give us accurate details and keep your email current: it’s where we send security and billing notices.
  • Your account belongs to an organization. Its members share the organization’s credit and keys, and their roles decide who can manage keys, billing and the team. The organization is responsible for what its members do.
  • Keep access to your account secure. If you think someone else has got in, tell us right away at support@typesearch.ai.

API keys

API keys authenticate your requests and spend your organization’s credit. Keep them secret: don’t put them in code that runs in a browser, in public repositories, in logs or in anything you share. Give each service its own key, so you can revoke one without stopping the rest.

You are responsible for all usage made with your keys — including usage by anyone who got hold of a key you exposed — until you revoke the key in the dashboard.

Each key can have a monthly spend limit. Past the limit, requests with that key are rejected instead of spending more credit. We recommend setting a limit on every key.

We store only a hash of each key, so we can’t show it to you again. If you lose a key, create a new one and revoke the old one. If we find that a key has been exposed or is being abused, we may disable it and tell you.

Credit and prices

typesearch is prepaid. You buy credit, and each request spends it at the list price shown on our pricing page when the request is made. That page is the only price list: these terms don’t repeat it.

  • Top-ups. You add credit from the dashboard, starting from the minimum amount shown there and on the pricing page.
  • Validity. Purchased credit is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Credit not used by then expires.
  • Free and bonus credit. New accounts receive a one-time welcome credit. Top-ups can come with bonus credit, such as the bonus on your first top-up and on each charge of the monthly credit plan. Welcome and bonus credit is promotional: it has no cash value, can’t be transferred or exchanged, expires on the date shown in the dashboard and is never refunded.
  • Repeat requests. An identical request made within 10 minutes of the first is served from cache and is not charged.
  • Failed requests. A request that fails because of an error on our side (a server error, HTTP 5xx) is not charged.
  • Monthly credit plan. Optional. It charges a fixed amount every month and adds the matching credit, plus any bonus, to your balance. You can cancel it any time in the dashboard: cancelling stops future charges, and credit already delivered stays in your balance until it expires.

Credit can only be used on typesearch. It isn’t a bank balance or a deposit, it earns no interest, and it can’t be transferred to another organization or exchanged for cash, except through a refund under our Refund Policy.

Price changes

We may change our prices. We’ll announce any change at least 30 days before it takes effect, on the pricing page and by email to the owners of each organization.

A price change never affects credit you have already bought: your balance and what you paid stay as they are. From the effective date, requests are charged at the new prices. If you’d rather not continue, you can close your account before then and get your unused purchased credit refunded.

Acceptable use

Use the Service lawfully and in good faith. In particular, don’t:

  • use it for anything illegal, or in a way that infringes other people’s rights, such as copyright or privacy;
  • try to get around rate limits, spend limits, billing or metering — for example, by opening several accounts to collect welcome credit, sharing keys across organizations or crafting requests to avoid being charged;
  • resell or give others access to the raw index, whether by bulk-exporting results into a dataset or by offering the API, or a thin wrapper around it, as your own search or data service. Building your own product on top of the results — an agent, an app, a research tool — is exactly what the Service is for;
  • attack, overload, probe or scan the Service, or try to access data or systems that aren’t yours;
  • use it to stalk or harass people, or to send spam.

If your usage breaks these rules or puts the Service or other customers at risk, we may throttle, suspend or block it. When we reasonably can, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Content and publishers’ rights

The Service returns links, metadata (such as headlines, dates, authors and sources) and short excerpts from public web pages, mostly news. It never returns the full text of an article.

That content belongs to its publishers and authors, and we don’t grant you any rights over it. How you use it — showing it to your users, quoting it or passing it to a model — is your responsibility, and you must respect the law and the publishers’ rights that apply.

Relevance scores, tone labels and structured fields are produced automatically, with the help of a language model, and can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it.

The queries and parameters you send remain yours. We use them to run your requests, to keep the Service secure and working, and as our Privacy Policy describes. We don’t sell them.

Publishers who don’t want our crawler on their sites can block it with robots.txt: see how our crawler works.

Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep the Service fast and available, but there is no service level agreement (SLA) unless an Enterprise agreement with you includes one. The Service can be interrupted by maintenance, by failures at our providers or by events beyond our control.

We may add, change or remove features. We’ll give notice before removing an endpoint or making a breaking change to the API, except when we must act quickly for security or legal reasons. Features labeled beta, preview or coming soon may change or disappear at any time.

Warranties and liability

Apart from what these terms expressly promise, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no other warranties, including that results will be complete, accurate or up to date.

To the extent the law allows, neither you nor we are liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data; and our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

These limits don’t apply to fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence, nor where the law doesn’t allow them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived by contract.

You are responsible for third-party claims that arise from using the Service or its results in breach of these terms, and you’ll cover the reasonable costs those claims cause us.

Closing an account

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to close your account, from the dashboard settings or by writing to support. When we close it, we refund your unused purchased credit as described in the Refund Policy; welcome and bonus credit is cancelled.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if a payment is reversed (for example, through a chargeback) or if the law requires it. When we reasonably can, we’ll warn you first. If we close your account for any reason other than fraud or abuse of billing, we refund your unused purchased credit.

After an account is closed, its data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes. The sections on content, liability and governing law continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we’ll email the owners of each organization at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires it sooner. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can close your account and get your unused purchased credit refunded.

General

  • We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over the Service, for example if we incorporate. We’ll tell you if that happens, and your rights under these terms stay the same.
  • If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right at some point, we don’t give it up.
  • These terms are published in English and Spanish. If the two versions differ, the English one prevails.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Before going to court, write to us at legal@typesearch.ai: most problems get solved faster that way.

Disputes will be decided by the competent courts of Argentina for our address above. If you are a consumer, you can also go to the courts that consumer protection law lets you choose, such as those where you live.
